Expanding to Keep Families Close

For 25 years, Ronald McDonald House South & Central Australia has been a lifeline for around 2,500 regional families each year. Now, with help from Bella Build & Design, we’re expanding our capacity by 50% to keep more families together when they need it most.

About the Expansion

Ronald McDonald House Adelaide is almost always at full capacity, and in 2024 alone, we had to turn away 190 regional families in need of accommodation while their child received medical care.

With 1 in 4 regional families needing to travel for healthcare, we are committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring no family is left without support and can stay together.

To meet this growing demand, we’re expanding in partnership with Bella Build & Design. Part of this project is increasing our capacity from 20 to 25 rooms by renovating part of our original house at 271 Melbourne Street. This $1 million project will allow us to provide an additional 140 families each year with a safe place to stay, free of charge, close to their child’s hospital.
